Paychex Inc. shared the top 10 regulatory issues that employers should monitor in 2022.
The list, compiled annually by the team of regulatory compliance experts at Paychex, identifies the items that should be top of mind as business owners and HR leaders continue to manage the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and plan for the year ahead.
The company found that the top regulatory issues that employees should monitor include workplace safety and cybersecurity. Other issues on the list include paid leave, retirement, tax changes, health care reform, pay equity, worker classification, privacy and cannabis in the workplace.
“Policies enacted in response to the COVID-19 will continue to dominate the regulatory landscape in 2022, which will also include issues such as paid leave, retirement and others that affect a company’s business and HR operations,” said Frank Fiorille, vice president of risk, compliance and data analytics at Paychex, in a statement.
